Ripples into Waves

Bishop The lyrics & frequent vocal harmonies provide a meditative experience. Each song has it's own unique art which is awesome! It's rare to see intimate information of the songwriting & composition...it reminds me of a "program" pamphlet one receives when attending a formal performance in a concert hall.
It's an honest album that exposes vulnerability that is lacking in todays world. My heart, mind, & soul desire more of this accepting, calming, understanding, & raw art. Favorite track: (I.) Petrified.

1.
The world feels like it’s ending, So how do I keep on living? The pace is too fast, the madness it lasts, it lasts. So what can I do? How can I push through? Fears and doubts are suffocating me. I work so hard, but what does it all mean? I’m petrified, this world has got me terrified. So how do I cope, With little to no hope? How do I sing, when all of this just brings me down, down. All I can do is let the light shine through. All I can I say, I’ll make it one more day for you, for you. Life isn’t over just quite yet, I’ll keep fighting the voices in my head. I’ll stay alive if only you’ll try as well, as well. I’m petrified, This world has got me numb and terrified.
2.
I’m going to sleep, would you leave me alone? I don’t need your schemes, I’m going home. I’m going to sleep, why are you still here ? I need my dreams, you can’t be in them, my dear. I need my rest so now you must go… Time has been so nice, but I’m losing hope. I need my rest, I need to escape, This world you have created, is not the one I ache for. I’ve ought to lay down, would you give me some time ? My head’s in the clouds and it’s way past nine. Je vais dormir, il n’y a rien on peut dire, Et quand je me réveille, il y aura a brand New Day. (I’m going to sleep, there is nothing anyone can say, And when I awake, there will be a brand new day.) Balance is slipping more and more, The fate of the world is tied up in my core. La balance m’échappe, le destin du monde Est lié à mon esprit et connecté à mon corps. (The balance escapes me, the destiny of the world Is linked to my mind and connected to my body.)
3.
As a child, I danced among the trees, With other humans I was told who to be. But in the forest was where I was free, Nature was the one who taught me how to see. The man made world never made sense, Unnatural structures, land riddled with cement. All trapped in houses surrounded by a fence, Had more than they could ever need, But still were discontent. In their sea of delusions, they nearly drown me, They tried to make me sink. Submerged in distractions, constant motions, For myself I could no longer think. They eradicated my roots, Disconnected me from my past, my trust, my core. Set my body, mind, and soul off-balance So I couldn’t soar. But just like the birds, I am meant to be free. The shangles you put me in only empowered me to succeed. Next to a river is always where I find, A sense of strength, hope, and peace of mind. The constant flow of water, unconfined, A force too sacred for us to bind. Impossible for man to consign, Serves to remind us that we are all intertwined.

(I.) Waves 02:50
Choking in the haze of our cities, Unconscious motions, blind following. Broken memories, loss of connection. Manufactured reality. Trembling pain, melancholy and confusion. Suffocated by man’s delusions. Silenced and fatigued, most give up hope. While some will continue To search and express the song within their soul. Overwhelming chaos, numbed emotions. Entertainment desensitized and meaningless. Bound by language, trapped by institutions Erasing creativity, encouraging conformity. Little do they know, the ones who escape Shift the whole of humanity. Echoing tones and rippling colors, Collide to form unstoppable waves of change.
5.
These times aren’t easy, We’re tired and overworked. The system is corrupt, but we’re all too stuck, It’s time for some change. But when will it change ? Why can’t we see ? The ground that we reap, The water we drink, The air that we breathe, Is not just here for us. This ignorance won’t last, Let’s learn from our past. Now is the time to act.
6.
Verse One: In the vastness that is time, A speck of dust and yet to find A way to live in harmony, I am you and you are me. Refrain: You may feel your voice is small, Let’s join together we can all Sing for freedom, sing for peace. We are all humanity. Verse Two: There’s no knowing what will be, Polluted sky and rising sea. Just hold onto what you know, But be prepared to let it go. (Refrain)
7.
Venice sinks and Florida floods, Don’t you see what you’ve done ? Glaciers melt and seas they rise, You saw it coming and compromised The health and safety of each being, How does it feel to be seen ? There’s no hiding anymore, You exploit the earth and steal from the poor. Creatures from the sea and land, Are suffering now from your hand. You hear our cries, you tell your lies, And still you’re filling up our skies. When will you act, when will you see ? Earth is desperately in need.
8.
You have a greater impact than you know. Every single breath and crying tear Creates a wave in history. For even just the wind from a butterfly’s wing Ends up in massive change, Causing time to rearrange. Is it your life if you’re living for others ? Learn to escape, set yourself free. For no one has power over your mind, They’ve only made you think otherwise. No need to doubt, no need for fear. You have the choice to use the chance that’s here. For it only takes one brave individual To stand up and start the flame.
9.
As we float through space, Tell me, what would it take ? To realize, open our eyes, Erase the lines they made. For all to thrive in peace, All are free to live and be. There will come a time When all will see the possibilities. As we live each day, We’ll find a way to set ablaze The laws they’ve made, We’ll grow and change, rearrange, Escape the haze. You are not on your own, There are others on a different road. We’ll create the world we want to exist, The power lies within each of us.
10.
Here we are on earth existing, It’s all alive, we’re all connected. Here and now is all there ever is. Each breath, each step, each moment is a gift. While it’s harsh outside, Life won’t pass us by. Look around and you will see, Moments of happiness and synchronicities. There’s so much this cosmos offers us, Let’s choose to learn, let’s choose to love. Life is sacred, all is one. One sky, one moon, one sun.

12.
Can you feel it ? Change is coming. Can you hear it ? The screams of many are building Can you see it ? The water’s are rising, But so are we. I dance for the trees, And I cry for the seas, I scream for the ones who cannot raise their voices. Sing for all beings, large and small, I sing for them all. The symphony we create Will not be possible to ignore. This isn’t how we are meant to live, Disconnected and separate from all that is. We aren’t meant to destroy, But rather to give. Let’s dance for the trees, And let’s cry for the seas. Let’s scream for the ones who cannot raise their voices. Let’s scream for all beings, large and small. Let’s sing for them all. Let’s sing for them all.
13.
Let’s make this world The place we all dream of. In rhythm and harmony. Let’s slow down, Take a deep breath. Tune in, listen, Just be still. Ripples of truth will find you And lead you to proof. Meditation, concentration, Leaning into tradition. I am action, I am passion, I am working on connection. There is love all around me, Just look up to the trees. Beacons of hope, You’ll find them, they’ll lead you to know. Start a flame inside your soul, Fall in love with every aspect. Live your dreams, plant your seeds. Touch the sky, ground your feet.
14.
Living ever-presently, I blink my eyes, begin to see With every step and breath I take, I influence history. The timeless and the temporal. The fleeting, the infinite, the now. The awareness of my impact, and the wisdom of the past, Can help me create changes that last.
15.
(V.) Passion 03:33
Strength, peace, joy, love, Surrender, endurance, and passion. To let go of self-judgment, Shift out of inner-criticism. Intimacy- seeing into me. The more we sing, We become a symphony. Health and vitality, Forgiveness and longevity, Mindfulness and serenity. Searching for what we cannot see.
16.
The timeless and the temporal… Searching for what we will never know..
